PITA PIZZA
INGREDIENTS
· 6 pita breads (I like to use wheat pita bread
· 1 pinch dried basil
· 1 pinch dried oregano
· olive oil
· 1 (6.5 ounce) can tomato sauce (sometimes I substitute this for pizza sauce from my local grocery store or pizzeria)
· 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
· 4 ounces Parmesan (I prefer shredded)
· 4 ounces italian cheese blend (optional)
· 2 small tomatoes, thinly sliced
· Additional toppings (i.e. fresh basil, bell pepper, pepperoni, onion, mushroom, etc.)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. (I recommend using a pizza stone if you have one. If you don’t just use a baking sheet)
Brush the pita bread with olive oil and dust with Parmesan cheese. Next, spread a spoonful of sauce on top of bread. Once this is complete, start layering the pita bread with cheese & toppings of your choice.
When your pita bread creation in complete, place in oven for 6-8 minutes. Each pita serves 1 little one (I usually eat two).
Serve warm and enjoy!
