I've recently become very interested in becoming a published writer- it's always been something that has been a dream of mine, but as I grow older, I realize it is a goal that is easily attainable, even at my young age. I've had essays published on various websites and a few small time publications and I've had some poetry published as well, but nothing that I'd consider a major accomplishment. Continuously I sent my work to The New Yorker and got nowhere, but that never stopped me. I came across this website, Lulu.com, that self-publishes authors. I decided I'd take a stab at it and make myself my own small book of poems. And I did just that. Now not only can people buy my published book online at the website, but they will also be able to see it on Amazon.com in a few weeks! It's such an exciting achievement for me and I can't believe this has actually happened. Not only that, but if you google my name, my book pops up, Skipping Rocks (A Poet's Declaration to the World) Check it out here: http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/skipping-rocks-%28a-poets-declaration-to-the-world%29/8203468
